Good Ventilation Helps You Reduce the Spread of COVID-19

New information from the HSE highlights the importance of ventilation since Coronavirus can spread through the air; adequate ventilation reduces the amount of virus in the air and helps reduce the risk from aerosol transmission (breathing in small particles).

It advises checking the risk of poor ventilation:

  • Risk assessment helps you identify workspaces with poor ventilation.

  • Look for rooms with windows and doors that can’t be opened.

  • Think about spaces that become overcrowded, feel stuffy or smell bad.

  • Consider using a CO2 monitor to identify poor ventilation.

While consideration should be given to improving natural air ventilation, advice is also given on the use of mechanical systems.
